This week we'll be exhibiting at UC San Diego Extension's Pacific Coast Safety Fest on March 7th.
We're happy to show our support for such a great event. Making safety and health a vital component of all workplaces is the aim
of this event. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational
Safety and Health Administration, in partnership with University of
California San Diego Extension OSHA Training Institute Education Center
(OTIEC), will be hosting the safety expo for the public with seminars
and courses.
The event is open to contractors, small business owners, professional
technical educators, businesses required to follow OSHA standards, and
anyone interested in creating a safer workplace.
Each class is just $20 this year. Attendees will receive
credit for authorized OSHA Education Center classes and will receive a
certificate of attendance for all classes.

Cal/OSHA has gathered public advisory meetings to develop a proposed regulation for minimizing heat-related illness among workers in indoor places of employment.
At these advisory meetings, stakeholders and the public have an opportunity to provide input for this proposed standard.
Here are the latest revisions from the February 16, 2018 meeting.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has adjusted their penalty amounts last month by 2% to reflect current inflation rates.
As of January 2, 2018, OSHA has set the following civil penalty amounts for these violations:
- Serious/Other-Than-Serious/Posting Requirements = $12,934 per violation
- Failure to Abate = $12,934 per day beyond the abatement date
- Willful or Repeated = $129,336 per violation.
