Governor Brown Appoints Marjorie Del Toro to the California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board
Monday, December 18, 2017 - Governor Brown announced appointments for the California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board.
Among the seven that were appointed was ehsInc CEO Marjorie Del Toro. Ms. Del Toro will be serving a 4-year term. Please help the entire ehsInc team congratulate Marjorie on her new venture!
The California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board was created by Senate Bill No. 661 - Protection of subsurface installations.
The board will coordinate education and outreach activities, develop standards, and enforce the provisions described in the bill. The board is authorized to prescribe rules and regulations as may be necessary and to exercise the power and duties conferred upon it.
The board will also be investigating possible violations of the provisions described in the bill, and transmit the investigation results and any recommended penalty to the state or local agency with jurisdiction over the activity or business undertaken in the commission of the violation.
There will be an annual meeting and, on or before February 1, 2018, and each year thereafter, for the board to report to the Governor and the Legislature on its activities and any recommendations.
