ehs International, Inc., Chief Executive Officer, Marjorie Del Toro Appointed to California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board.

Irvine, Calif. - ehs International, Inc., (ehsInc) is pleased to announce Marjorie Del Toro has been appointed to the California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board of Directors. Del Toro will be serving a two-year term and will work to help guide policy decisions, improve public and worker safety and investigate accidents.

“I am honored to serve on the California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board of Directors, with my fellow board member,” said Marjorie Del Toro, CEO, ehsInc. “During my term on the board I am looking to improve the safety of workers in subsurface operations and put forward policy suggestions that can address some of the challenges at jobsites around California.”

The appointment of Del Toro to the Board of Directors shows a commitment by California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to creating a diverse and well-rounded group of professionals who are well equipped to address the challenges currently facing an industry that works to create some of the most important projects in California. As the first woman appointed to the Board of Directors, Del Toro will provide a voice for underrepresented groups of workers.

The California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board works to create new and adjusted policy solutions that are used when considering changes to jobsite safety procedures. The Board strives to be a model regulatory and investigatory board for other states to emulate. There will be an annual meeting of the Board of Directors, the first of which occurred on February 1, 2018. During these meetings the Board will report to the Governor and California State Legislature on its activities and recommendations.
